It is important to know that the ferry leaves from Harlingen and not to mistake the ferry to Vlieland for the ferry to Terschelling. Once you mastered this, you've taken the most important step. You can book your boattickets in advance through Rederij Doeksen , or the relatively new and a bit experimental EVT.

At your arrival on the island you have two options. You can go by bus, which are usually always waiting when the ferry arrives. Apart from the high season, this will only cost you 1 euro per person! You can take line 120 to Oosterend, but it will always be useful to ask the driver if you're in the right bus and if he would anounce your stop. They will be happy to do that for you. Your stop takes about 15 - 20 minutes and is called Manege Terschelling, which would be hard for foreigners so you can also ask directly for H2O Hostel. If all else fails, ask the driver to take you to 'Jelte and Marieke and their horses'. 

From the busstop immediately take the road that leads from the main road. After about 100 meters you'll be next to the driveway of the large structure that is Manege Terschelling, and also the home of our hostel (don't panic, the inside looks a lot better!). After the green hedge to the right you will see a double door with the word 'ingang' above it. That means entrance, and that means you're there!

If you want, you can rent bicycles at the harbour. The rental company will then take your luggage to the hostel. Please do keep in mind that you will then also have to go to the ferry on bicycle on the return journey. You can also rent bicycles at the hostel!

Het is belangrijk om te weten dat de boot vertrekt uit Harlingen en vervolgens niet op de boot naar Vlieland te stappen. Wanneer u dat voor elkaar krijgt, dan is de belangrijkste stap gemaakt. Uw boottickets kunt u online boeken via Rederij Doeksen , of tegenwoordig ook EVT. Waarbij, die laatste nieuwe experimenteler en goedkper is.

 Yes, we know, we do things differently. That's why the conditions and circumstances in our hostel might differ a bit from what you're used to from previous visits to hostels and hotels. Because we don't like dissappointments or surpises that are too big, we use this page to make everything crystal clear. Read it well, so you know exactly what we have to offer you!

Rooms include:

  • Two single beds with good matrasses
  • A bathroom with shower, toilet and sink
  • Bedlinnen and towels
  • A place to sit
  • A spacious wardrobe
  • An alarm clock
  • Wireless internet (bring your own laptop or rent ours) 
The next features are not in the rooms, but are located in the bar or in the shared living room:
  • Nice couches
  • TV
  • Fire place
  • Dartboard
  • Biljart
  • Second hand book shelf

To be exact: the next items you won't find in your room:

  • Tv
  • Telephone
  • Soap and shampoo 

 

Animals are not allowed in the hostel, though a parade of cows, geese, horses, sheep, rabits, hares and goats past the window of your room is a possibility!  

Bedlinnen is changed once every week when you stay for a longer period. Towels twice a week.

New this year is that the reception is closed from 1 to 5 pm. We try to keep the costs low so we can give you the nicest rooms for the lowest price. When you arrive in between, you can always leave your luggage at the hostel and start enjoying your holliday!

When you leave, you can check out until 10 am. If you want you can leave your luggage with us to guard it for the day.

 

The rooms will be delivered clean and fresh when you arrive, but they won't be cleaned during your stay. We think you'll manage perfectly to clean your room during your stay when you feel the need to. We'll supply you with the cleaning stuff you need. 

Breakfast is from eight to ten in the morning

Smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building

On sundays it's party time for us. That's why we are happy to provide the Evangelical Church Terschelling with a place to hold service on sundays. At that time the reception will be closed and checking out will only be possible before 10.30 am and after 12.30. Keep this in mind, especially when you're planning to leave early on sunday or arrive early on sunday. For the rest you are, of course, very welcome to join us, to stay in bed, or to do whatever you like! The entrance at the back will allow you to go in and out when you please at this time!
